Kathmandu. It has been agreed to name the Nepali film sector ‘Cinemandu’. On Monday, the Film Development Board called the film-related organizations for a discussion on the nomination.
Board Chairman Bhuvan KC said that a consensus was reached on naming ‘Cinemandu’ in the said discussion and the board meeting to be held this evening will approve it. All organizations agree on that name. The board meeting will decide and send it to the ministry, said KC.
The agreement on naming has been signed by the representatives of the participating organizations. After the decision of the board, the recommendation about the nomination will be sent to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology.
The ministry will present this name in the cabinet meeting. The Nepali film industry will officially get its name after the Cabinet meeting approves it.
The board called for a discussion saying that a consensus should be reached on a name from Cinemandu, Kantipur Films and Himalaya Films.
