Kathmandu. As the release date of the film ‘London to Paris’ approaches, the producers have intensified the promotion. At the press conference held on Monday at Yo Meso, the ‘cast and crew’ answered questions about the film with the media.
The film is centered around love and the ups and downs of the relationship that revolves around the journey from London, UK to Paris, France. Ghanshyam Lamichhane, who has previously directed films with rural stories like ‘Dhauli’ and ‘Panchebaja’, has this time made the story of the city, especially ‘Diaspora’, the main subject of the film.
He was asked – how will the Nepalese audience relate to the story of the diaspora?
He argued that the film’s presentation and story can connect with the Nepali audience. ‘We have worked in a way that gives justice to the story. This film will be refreshing for the audience who are tired of watching the same kind of films,’ he said.
This press meet was special for actress Samragni Shah. She said that although she would like to do films based on different genres and characters, she does not have the ‘approach’ of such films. “I also like to work in different genres of films, but I don’t get offers for such films,” she said.
Even though she signed the film when she was 26 years old, Samragyi said that by the time of its release, she would be 28 years old. This is a romantic film. It is a good and entertaining film,’ she said. Samragji has also talked about her career in detail with Online Khabar, where she talked about her psychology, future times and other things when the film is not running.
Film writer Pradeep Bharadwaj said that this film is a story of a journey focused on the youth audience. ‘It contains the story I wanted to write,’ says Bharadwaj, ‘I wrote it during the lockdown. It does not have a larger than life story. It is a story of a simple relationship.’
He said that the lack of coordination between writers and directors is the biggest problem of Nepali films. ‘From the time the film is written and ready to the theater, there is a world of difference. A white film is sent, it comes black,’ he complained.
Actor Kabir Khadka said that he saw foreign countries in this film. ‘I had never seen Abroad before,’ he says, ‘I could see Abroad in this.’ Debut boy Nischal Khadka said that his chemistry with Samragni and Garima matched.
Nischal said that as a senior artist, he learned a lot from Samragji. Although we are the same age, professionally he is senior. I have learned a lot on the set,’ he said.
Debut actress Garima Sharma said that ‘London to Paris’ was a learning opportunity for her. The film is produced in collaboration with AB International, Gautam Productions and Orchid Vess Films.
