Kathmandu. Filming on the new series of Hollywood actor Tom Cruise’s upcoming blockbuster ‘Mission Impossible’ has been halted after a £23m submarine malfunction.
According to Dailymail, filming was stopped when the gimbal used to lower the 120-foot-tall structure jammed and required repairs. As a result, the shooting of the film has been pushed back by a few weeks and the cost of the film has increased dramatically.
The source told Daily Mail – ‘They are not happy about it. Because it will push back the filming and the daily expenses will also increase a lot.’
The seventh series of the film released last year was also affected due to the strike in Hollywood. This film was scheduled to release in the summer of this year. But due to delay it has reached May 2025. With the delay, it is not yet decided when it will be released.
Most of the new series has been filmed at Lancross Studios in the UK. Tom Cruise plays the role of Agent Ethan Hunt in the film.
‘The Mission Impossible’ film series started in 1996. This film is based on the 1966 television show of the same name. With this action franchise, Tom is gearing up to work on the new Top Gun sequel after the box office success of Maverick, which earned around $41.5 billion.
