Kathmandu. The three-day ‘Nepal Fashion Festival’ organized for the first time in Nepal has been successfully completed.
With the slogan ‘Empowering youth and women for sustainable fashion, beauty, lifestyle and art’, Fashion Network Nepal has organized a festival from Friday to Sunday at Heritage Garden in Sanepa, Lalitpur.
According to Prashant Tamrakar, founder director of the organizing organization, there has been more participation in the Nepal Fashion Festival than expected. Director Tamrakar says, “After a long homework, we have succeeded to a large extent in the purpose for which we organized this festival.”
According to Shekharraj Kasju, another founder of the organizing organization, people of all age groups, including the youth, observed the festival.
At the festival, around 80 stalls were decorated from clothing to jewellery, make-up to healthcare, education to food.
The first day of the festival was ‘The Art of Influence: How Makeup Transforms Your Social Media Game’ (Divya Vaidya), the second day was ‘Fashion Business Essentials : Marketing, Branding and Retail Strategies’ (Raisa Shrestha), Fashion Styling: Crafting Unique Looks for Editorial, Runway and Everyday Wear’ (Puran Joshi) and on the third day a master class and workshop was conducted on Fashion Writing and Criticism: Crafting, Compelling Fashion Narratives’ (Charu Chadha).
Gautam Dhimal, Rajbhai Suwal, Raju Bhandari, Susan Shrestha and Pravan Joshi participated in the photo talk session.
On the second day, a discussion was held on ‘Diversity and Inclusion in the Fashion Industries: Representation Matters’ and on the third day, a discussion was held on Bridging the Gap between Academic and Industry Demands. Shailaja Adhikari, Shekhar Raj Kasju and Mukta Shrestha participated in this session.
The designer runway, which was held every evening for three days under the leadership of Prashant Tamrakar, was crowded with spectators. Designer Runway from Sample Fashion College, IIFT School of Fashion and Interior Design to Inta Attire, Hemas Boutique, Juju, Rezvol Costhetics, JBG Bespoke, Hemaaz Boutique, Inta Atair, Logo Fashion, Sample College of Fashion Technology, IIFT School of Fashion and Interior, Makeup Darbar, National Dress House, Sabah Nepal, Panchmani Jewelers (Mehaka dress), Juju-Karuna etc., etc., displayed the dresses prepared by various models.
