Kathmandu. The premiere of the Nepali reality show ‘The Challengers: Game of the Himalayas’ was completed on Sunday morning at the AMC Theater in New York’s Times Square. The first episode of the show, which is streaming on Amazon Prime, was shown in the hall.
As a special attraction of the premiere, famous YouTubers from the Philippines, India, America, Colombia and Thailand were present along with Nepal. Mr. Gurung, the producer and director of the show, informed Onlinekhabar that the premiere was organized for the fundraising of this YouTuber.
According to director Gurung, the aim is to bring those 6 YouTubers to the Everest region of Nepal to tell the story of the impact of climate change on the Himalayan region to the world.
“We are going to take YouTubers to Everest and tell the story of the climate crisis through them,” said Gurung. In the premiere, videos of glaciers made by competitors of the show, videos about the World Vlog Challenge and the story of climate change were also screened.
The Nepali community including Lok Bahadur Thapa, the Nepali Ambassador to the United Nations, participated in the premiere ceremony. The premiere was organized in collaboration with The Great Nepali Diaspora in New York.
Currently, Amazon Prime offers eight episodes for $10. In Nepal, there are preparations for the premiere in 2025. Apart from that, Gurung informed that the premiere is also being prepared in India, Latin America, Thailand and the Philippines.
‘Now we are focused on America. With this premiere, the way has been opened,’ he said. Producer Gurung hopes that this reality show will be a suitable medium to tell the story of Nepal’s tourism promotion and climate crisis to the world.
