Kathmandu. 28 people, including 12 children, died when a fire broke out at a game zone in the city of Rajkot, Gujarat, India. 25 people were evacuated safely.
A fire broke out at the TRP Game Zone on Kalavad Road in Rajkot around 4:30 pm on Saturday. The fire was brought under control after 3 hours of efforts.
According to the Indian media, the dead bodies cannot be identified as they were burnt. A DNA test is being conducted to identify the bodies.
Because of summer holidays and weekends there were many children and their parents for entertainment. Repair and upgrading work was going on in some places. So ply and pieces of wood were scattered everywhere. At that time, a fire was suddenly seen. However, the cause of the fire has not been revealed.
After the incident, the state government has decided to provide relief at the rate of Rs 4 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured.
President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Delhi Chief Minister Arbind Kejriwal and others have expressed grief over the damage caused by the fire.
