Kathmandu. Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders will clash for the Indian Premier League (IPL) title. After defeating Rajasthan by 36 runs in the second qualifier on Friday night, Hyderabad confirmed the meeting with Kolkata.
After defeating Hyderabad by 8 wickets in the first qualifier on Tuesday night, Kolkata has reached the finals. The final match between these two teams will be played in Chennai on Sunday. Chasing the target of 176 runs given by Hyderabad, Rajasthan could score only 139 runs, losing 7 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs.
Dhruv Jurel of Rajasthan scored the highest 56 runs while remaining unbeaten. He played 35 balls and hit 7 fours and 2 sixes. As opener Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed for 42 runs, the other Rajasthan batsmen could not get going.
Hyderabad’s Shahbaz Ahmed took the most 3 wickets. After bowling 4 overs, he spent 23 runs. Abhishek Sharma took 2 wickets while Pat Cummins and Thangarsu Natarajan took 1 wicket each. Before that, after losing the toss and batting first, Hyderabad scored 175 runs losing 9 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs.
Clason top scored with 50 runs. He played 34 balls and hit 4 fours. Rahul Tripathi 37, Travis Head 34, Shahbaz Ahmed 18 and Abhishek Sharma were dismissed for 12 while Pat Cummins remained unbeaten on 5 runs.
Rajasthan’s Trent Bould and Avesh Khan took 3 wickets each. Sandeep Sharma got 2 wickets.
