Kathmandu. Kylian Mbappe, who has missed the last two league games, will play his last match in the jersey of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) against Lyon in the French Cup final on Saturday. The striker, who is being discussed to join Spanish club Real Madrid, was rested by coach Luis Enrique last week. He participated in the Cannes Film Festival in his spare time.
Last February, Mbappe said he would leave the club at the end of the season. Over the last three months, Enrique has tried to make PSG less dependent on Mbappe.
Enrique has argued that since Mbappe will not be with PSG next season, he needs to start thinking about his replacement.
Enrique is yet to decide on his starting XI for Saturday’s final at Lille’s Stade Pierre Mauroy. However, Enrique probably doesn’t want to keep him on the bench as the match was Mbappe’s last.
Mbappe is the club’s top scorer with 256 goals. He has won 6 League Ones and 3 French Cups with PSG.
However, he did not win the Champions League trophy after spending 7 seasons at the Paris club. However, he has contributed greatly to making PSG one of the top clubs in Europe.
He is expected to leave France having won the title in PSG’s jersey. However, Enrique has said that he will field only the best players in the match against Lyon.
Like Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele did not play in the last league stage against Nice and Metz. However, he will make a comeback against Lyon, who are led by former Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette.
Lyon has been in impressive form over the last month. Enrique has not taken the 5-time cup winner lightly.
Lyon were bottom of the league last November. However, since Pierre Sage was appointed coach, the team has turned into a winning machine.
Having qualified for next season’s European Championship, Lyon will enter the field with the goal of winning the French Cup after 2012. Lyon are dependent on the performance of the substitutes. Since Saez’s appointment, Lyon’s substitutes have scored 18 goals. Agency
