South Korea, home to the world’s main memory chip manufacturing industry such as Samsung and SK Hynix, has recently been increasing investment in chips with increasing use of AI.
Only last year, South Korea announced that it will build the world’s largest chip center. The cost of the center to be built with private sector investment is 456 billion US dollars.
President Ul has said that he will support the government in the development of the semiconductor industry and will increase investment in infrastructure, research and development along with the economy.
He said that he believes that tax concessions will be given to chip industries and that new manpower will be created along with employment.
